Kendrick, Contracting Officer, (540) 983-1048 The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Salem, Virginia, plans to issue a solicitation package for IFB 658-19-97 to completely prepare Rooms 3H-107, 3H-108 and 3H-109 in Building 143 for a Sleep Lab. The solicitation package shall be issued o/a 4/23/97. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, transportation, and tools for demolition and general construction to include metal stud partitions, blown-in insulation, extension of medical gas piping, extension of coaxial cable for relocated television outlets, addition of electrical receptacles, light switches, removal and addition of fluorescent light fixtures and addition of nurse call pull cord station with lamp and audible tone device. Construction estimate is between $25,000 -- $100,000. All work shall be completed within sixty (60) calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. A pre-construction conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Award is subject to availability of funds. This acquisition is set-aside for small business.
