The United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) intends to issue a competitive solicitation for approximately 3300 ruggedized hand-held computers (RHCs). Award will be made to the technically acceptable offeror whose proposal is determined to represent the "best value" to the Government for this equipment, based upon the evaluation criteria set forth in the RFP. The technical merit of each offeror's proposal for purposes of the Government's source selection will be based upon the evaluation of the offeror's technical proposal and testing of the offeror's bid sample(s) to be conducted by Hughes Technical Services Company, Indianapolis, IN, under Hughes' RFQ for provision of 50 RHCs. Accordingly, in order to be considered for award under the MARCORSYSCOM solicitation, offerors MUST ALSO submit a proposal and required bid sample(s) in response to theHughes RFQ. Such proposals must be received not later than 30 day after release of RFQ to industry by Hughes. Required bid samples must be provided in accordance with the RFQ.
