This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared
in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number
F42650-97-T-A060. This solicitation is issued as a request for proposal
(RFP). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-36.
The standard industrial classification code is 3825 and the small
business size standard is 500 people. This solicitation is set aside
for small business. EDDY CURRENT TESTER, P/N MIZ-21, Quantity 4 ea,

be considered. This proposed procurement is under a 100 percent small
business set aside, the size standard for which is 500 employees. An
Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or
potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this
acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the
authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to
communicate contractor, concerns, issues, disagreements, and
recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
