SINGAPORE: CONSUMER PROTECTION (SAFETY REQUIREMENTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1995 The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.80 dated 10 March 1997. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: SINGAPORE. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (PSB) Agency or Authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Portable cooking gas appliance: namely a portable cooking appliance that uses liquefied petroleum gas, obtained from a gas canister (including HS 7321.11.000, 7615.19.000, 7417.00.000, etc.). Gas canister: namely a non-refillable metallic container up to 1.4 litres capacity filled with liquefied petroleum gases (including HS 2711.13.000). 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 -- Total 11 Pages. 6. Description of content: Portable cooking gas appliance and gas canister are designated as controlled goods and must be registered with PSB. The safety authority by 1 June 1997. 7. Objective and rationale: To ensure the safety of consumers in Singapore when using the above consumer goods. 8. Relevant documents: Singapore standard for portable gas cookers and Singapore standard for non-refillable LPG canisters for portable gas cookers. 9.
