This project consists of the reconstruction of 16.83 miles of trails: Sam Merrill Trail 2.64 miles, East Fork Trail 4.13 miles, and Condor Peak Trail 10.06 miles. Major items of work include clearing and grubbing, trail reconstruction including the installation of approximately 624 square feet of rock retaining walls, 554 square feet of composite retaining walls (Trademark -- Sutter Equipment Co.) (Government Furnished Materials), 74 trial signs, replacement or new installation of 53 log water bars, 26 rubber belting waterbars, clearing of rocks from stream at 13 stream crossings, and the removal of solid rock to obtain desired trailbed width.
