This public notice is to request suppliers to provide NTT with general referential information on similar products or technology prior to procurement of the intended product (mentioned below) by NTT. This public notice is also to request that any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the procurement program of this product should declare their intentions to that effect. This public notice is not intended to guarantee public notification of procurement of the product. (1) Name: (a) Digital Satellite Communications Multiplex Equipment.(b) Receive-only Satellite Circuit Adapter Card.(2) Overview: Digital Satellite Communications Multiplex Equipment is used at a transmitting earth station, and it multiplexes ATM cells and MPEG packets, and it also encrypts the signals for conditional access. Receive-only Satellite Circuit Adapter Card is a personal computer (PC) expansion-bus card which connects a receiver and a PC at a receiving earth station. Requirements for each equipment are as follows:(a) Digital Satellite Communications Multiplex Equipment, i) Input interface-Transport layer: MPEG-2 TS (ISO/IEC13818-1 MPEG2 Systems) and ATM (ITU-T I.361) ii) Output interface-Transport layer: MPEG-2 TS,/-Transmission bit rate of MPEG-2 TS: about 30 Mbit/s through each port,/-Electrical interface: EIA/TIA RS-422, 8-bit parallel transmission iii) Functional requirements,/-Shall encapsulate ATM cells into MPEG packets whose PID must correspond to the VPI/VCI. /-Shall convert a PID number of the receiving MPEG packet into another ID number. iv) Environmental conditions,/-Ambient temperature: +10 $B!n (B to +45 $B!n (B,/-Relativ e humidity: 20% to 80%(b) Receive-only Satellite Circuit Adapter Card,/i) Shall be plugged into the PCI-bus expansion slot of a PC,/ ii) Input interface,/-Transport layer: MPEG-2 TS,/-Transmission bit rate of MPEG-2 TS: about 30 Mbit/s,/-Electrical interface: EIA/TIA RS-422, 8-bit parallel transmission,/ iii) Functional requirements,/ -Shall pick up MPEG packets which have the requested PID from MPEG-2 TS.,/ -Shall pick up ATM cells which have the requested VPI/VCI from the picked-up MPEG packets. (3) Description of the Request for Information: Applicants are requested to supply NTT with the following information on products or technology similar to the above-mentioned product. Information responding to part of the below-mentioned items can also be accepted. It should be noted, however, that the entire supplied information will be regarded as non-secret information and may be disclosed to third parties in the form of, for example, inclusion in the corresponding PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTATION, or may become available to third parties. Regardless, in such cases, NTT will not assume any responsibility for possible outcomes arising from the management, disclosure, or the use of the supplied information.(4) Request for Declaration of the Intention of Participating as a Subcontractor: Any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the product procurement program of NTT, are requested to supply NTT with the information listed below. After preparing a list of supplied information, NTT will provide the list to suppliers who wish to be provided with it, to those who have responded to the request for supply of the information listed and to those who have purchased the PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTATION relating to procurement of the product.
