Cairo Water Supply (GOGCWS), in the Arab Republic of Egypt, requests
bids from U.S. firms for eighty (80) microcomputers and eight (8)
server/client local area networks, including network and desk top
operating systems and applications software. The required
microcomputers will consist of both networked and stand alone units
including printers, modems, uninterrupted power supplies, network
hardware, and spare parts. Incidental services include installation and
training at numerous sites in Greater Cairo, Egypt. Bidder must have
representation for complete installation, and supply of spare parts and
service in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and must include the provision
of local technical support and emergency service from the date of
installation acceptance until 31 December 1999. The bidder must bid on
all of the items specified and a single award will result. A Fixed
Price Host Country Contract with GOGCWS is anticipated. Payment will be
made in U.S. Dollars by USAID/Cairo through a direct Letter of
Commitment under USAID Grant No. 263-0193. Additionally, there is a two
year service and maintenance contract to be paid in Egyptian Pounds
(LE) by the GOGCWS. Interested firms may obtain copies of the

No.: (913)-458-3802. The IFB will be issued 15 days after publication
of this notice. Bidders will be given 45 days from the date of issuance
of the IFB to prepare and submit their bids. A public bid opening will
be held at the time, date and address specified in the IFB. Late
submission of bids will not be considered. Bids must remain valid and
open for acceptance for a minimum of 90 days from the date set for bid
opening. The Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Agency
for International Development encourage and welcome in this activity
the participation, to the fullest extent possible, of minorities and
women both as individuals and as members of contracting or
sub-contracting firms. In this respect, it is anticipated that the
prime contractor will make every practicable use of such personnel and
