of 41 U.S.C. 2539(c)(1), the Government anticipates entering into a
sole source procurement with Electrocom Automation, Arlington, Texas
for upgrade to Consolidated Mail Out Pharmacy System, Consisting of
hardware of approximately 3 label printers, documentation printer
checking stations, computer, multiple induction points, modifications
to conveyor system and software modifications. The software is
proprietary data requiring programming to upgrade throughput to 10,500
prescriptions per an 8 hour shift with a 15% safety margin. The above
authority is cited and justification made based upon the determination
that the Government needs can best be satisfied by services available
from one source. This contract action is for services described above
which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one
source under FAR 6.302 and under Commercial Item Acquisition, FAR Part
12. Interested firms may identify their capability to respond to this
requirement or submit proposals by May 12, 1997. This notice of intent
is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals
received on or before May 12, 1997 will be considered by the
Government. A determination by the Government not to open the
requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the
discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this
notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. S.I.C. Code
