Web Site below. The 15th Contracting Squadron, Hickam Air Force Base,
Hawaii, is seeking qualified sources who have the capability to perform
flyability/flight checks on Instrument Approach/Departure Procedures
(IAP's) at designated Host Nation locations throughout the Pacific Rim
as designated by HQ PACAF/DOCS. Approximatly 300. IAP's in 20
different Host Nation countries. Contractor is responisble for all
parts, labor, material, tools, and equipment necessary to perform this
function. Contractor is responsible for all flight planning, Host
Nation country clearance, VISA's, Passports etc. The Flyability/Flight
Check of IAP's would include but not be limited to the following,
ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Air
Force Instrument Procedure requlations; Fly the entire procedure from
the Initial Approach Fix/Holding to Missed Approach to evaluate
cockpit workload, verifing controlling obstacles in each segment to
ensure there were no higher obstacles in each segment, evaluate descent
gradients in each segment, evaluate Navaid reception to ensure all
radials associated with the approach were valid, check Air Traffic
Control communications, validate holding patterns and airspeeds,
evaluate final approach alignment, evaluate Missed Approach Point,
evaluate ALL airfield lighting to include Approach Lights, Runway
lights, VASI/PAPI's, taxiway, etc. Would evaluate the procedure from
the aspect "can a new pilot with very few hours in a single seat
fighter fly this procedure in IFR weather and feel comfortable?".
