Project is now being advertised correctly as Solicitation Number DACA01-97-B-0057. The project consists of total renovation of approx. 4,100 SF inside Bldg. 54 to construct a Command Post including option to renovate approx. 13,300 SF of additional space, construction of an approx. 3,400 SF addition to Bldg. 128 (Survival Equipment Warehouse), construction of an approx. 4,000 SF addition to Bldg. 65 (Services), and renovation of shop space in Hangar 4 (Life Support and Wheel and Tire). Asbestos removal and lead base paint removal will be required. This procurement is a competitive 8(a) set-aside as established in section 8(a) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 637(a)). Only those firms meeting the Small Business Administration's (SBA) criterion, and have previously been certified by the SBA as an "8(a) contractor", are eligible to compete for this procurement and ultimately be awarded a subcontract from the SBA. It has been determined by the Small Business Administration (SBA), that competition will be restricted to 8(a) firms which have a SIC code 1542 among their approved SIC codes and which are regularly serviced by the SBA Miami District Office. This solicitation includes bid options for additional work. Critical path method (Network Analysis System) is required. For this job, a small business is defined as having average annual receipts of less than $17,000,000 for the past three years.
