Z -- HVAC SYSTEMS, PHASE 1 SOL IFB 529-2-97 DUE 052997 POC Carol Callihan, (412) 477-5052 Furnish all necessary labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision for Project #96-106, HVAC Systems, Phase 1, at the VA Medical Center, 325 New Castle Road, Butler, PA 16001, in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition of: Existing chillers, pumps, expansion tanks, control system, piping, electrical apparatus, and lighting; and installation of: New two 400 ton chillers, two heating water pumps, two secondary chilled water pumps, control system, modification of chilled water, heating water, condensing water, auxiliary piping, and miscellaneous devices required for a primary secondary chilled water distribution plant and stand-alone hot water heating plant. Also, included is upgrading of existing high voltage gear, electrical distribution, chiller plant lighting, and miscellaneous electrical installations. Completion time for this project is 365 calendar days from notice to proceed. The project is phased with critical dates specified in thecontract documents. The first phase requires removal and installation of a new heating water plant. The second and third phases includes the installation of a new primary secondary chilled water plant. Temporary heating and/or cooling must be included in the bid price if installation cannot be completed by the dates specified. All qualified contractors may request a copy of the solicitation by written request only to the issuing office. Solicitation packages will also be available for public viewing at the Dodge Reports and Pittsburgh Builders Exchange in Pittsburgh, PA, and the Construction Bulletin in Youngstown, OH. The award of this solicitation is subject to a ninety day bid acceptance period, and is subject to the availability of funds. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated to be awarded. The SIC Code for this solicitation is 1711. This is a small business set-aside. For the purpose of determining small business size, the average annual receipts of a concern and its affiliates for the preceding 3 fiscal years must not exceed 7 million. The estimated cost range for this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. Issue date is on or about 4/24/97.
