A -- BIOLOGICAL WARFARE DEFENSE SOL SS97-23 POC Mildred Donlan (703) 696-2289 and Alan Frederick (703) 696-0047 DARPA intends to enter into contract with the University of Alabama-Birmingham for R&D in support of DARPA'S Biological Warfare Defense Program, and specifically for the purpose of undertaking studies relative to capturing influenza virus using hemagglutinin and/or neuraminidase ligands. The period of performance is estimated at 36 months. The value of this effort is estimated at $775k. The University of Alabama-Birmingham is the only source known to the Government that possesses the technological background and experience, personnel and facilities, that are prerequisite to the performance of this R&D.
