The Navy has a requirement for armoring of a Government furnished D-8N bulldozer in accordance with a NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane Statement of Work. The bulldozer is a portion of the Clausen Power Blade Mine-Sweeping System. The armoring effort consists of the following tasks- removing the cab from the D-8N bulldozer, bolting armor to the bulldozer, reconnecting electrical and air conditioning systems, and sandblasting armor and painting the bulldozer. The Power Blade System shall be modified and hardened to reduce susceptibility to blast and fragmentation effects caused by the inadvertent or planned detonation of an anti-tank type land mine. Inspection and Acceptance will be at the contractor's facility. A fixed price purchase order will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures(SAP). It is anticipated that a formal Request for Quotes will be issued. In a SAP, this procurement is exclusively reserved for Small Business concerns in accordance with FAR clause 52.219-6.
