Dobson, Contracting Officer Western Area Power Administration intends to procure a large screen projection display (LSPD) system which will be used as a dynamic mapboard system. The projection display system will be driven from a Harris XA-21 -- X-window based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition/Energy Management System (SCADA/EMS). The space available for the projection display system is 40 feet wide by up to 6 feet deep with a ceiling height of about 19 feet. The dynamic large screen projection display system shall include the following major components: A large screen wall, approximately 8 ft by 40 ft, that consists of multiple viewing screens arranged in front of the dispatcher's console; multiple high-resolution video projectors that display dynamic images; a projection mapboard server that drives the multiple projectors from the X Window graphical data displays from the SCADA/EMS; A video/audio matrix switch with audio follow through capabilities to route multiple S-Video and NTSC signals to any of the designated projectors. The contractor shall also provide installation services, and training. The contract duration will be 9 months with delivery FOB Rocky Mountain Regional Office, Loveland, CO. The Government intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract. Technical proposals will consist of an oral presentation by offerors to the Technical Evaluation Panel and submission of supplementary written material. Details on the oral presentation process will be provided in the solicitation. It is anticipated that one award will result from this solicitation. The solicitation will be issued o/a May 20, 1997.
