in Gainesville, Florida intends to issue a contract with the University
of Florida in the Pharmacology and Therapeutics Department. A project
has been approved entitled, "Leptin: Regulation by Sympathetic Activity
and Role in Engergy Expenditure" with the Principal Investigator,
Philip J. Scarpace, PhD. This study has been approved for study through
March 30, 2000.The primary goals are to identify biochemical pathway
that is responsible for the production of heat in the brown adipose
tissue of aged rats. No other company can provide the University of
Florida Animal Use and Care Committee approval for the animal surgery
