Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command-Atlantic requires the
services of a contractor to provide on site training in
Telecommunications Systems Distribution Design consisting of 35
personnel. In response to this synopsis contractors are to be aware
that desired/required start date will be 25 Aug. 97, ending
approximately 29 Aug. 97. Contractors must be familiar with FIPS 174,
Federal Building Telecommunications Wiring Standard, FIPS 175, Federal
Building Standard for Telecommunications Pathways and Spaces, and NFPA
70, National Electric Code. The workshop shall be conducted for
approximately 5 days with hands-on training to give real world
applications in the techniques and methods used to design low voltage
telecommunications system, provide exposure to all aspects of design,
from entrance point through horizontal and backbone distribution
systems to the workstation and telephone set. Also provide instruction
in telecommunication administration, private CATV distribution
systems, soundsystems, electonmagnetic compatibility, and underground
and buried cable. This procurement is 100% small business set-aside and
conducted utilizing Simplified Acquisiton Procedures in accordance with
FAR Part 13 and policies in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
