Z -- REPLACE BURIED FUEL TANKS SOL F65503-97-B0011 DUE 060197 POC Contact A1C Danny Wiand, (907) 377-2905, Contract Administrator The project includes the removal of eighteen (18) underground fuel oil storage tanks; installation of fourteen (14) double wall replacement tanks; removal and disposal of one (1) above ground tank; tightness testing and abandonment of three (3) underground tanks. Exsisting tanks range in size from 250 gallons to 7,000 gallons with most being 1,760 gallons. Replacement tanks will typically be 1,000 gallons. New fuel tanks will be installed on concrete pads. Associated work includes connection of new fuel lines to exsisting furnaces, boilers, hot water heaters, ect. and the disposal of heating oil, contaminated soil anticipated at each tank site. Tanks to be removed and abandoned are not known or expected to be leaking. Known contamination consist of surface spills and overflows at the fill points. The Contractor must have an approved Quality Assurance Program Plan on file with the Alaska Department of Enviromental Conservation for for tank closures and must perform all task necessary to close each excavation. Performance period shall be 365 calendar days. SIC code is 1629. The magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project will issue on or about 04 June 97.
