The United States Air Force anticipates a requirement to upgrade or replace the power system for the Minuteman weapon systems's Launch Facility and Launch Control Facility. Increased reliability, efficiency, power quality and overall performance are the goals of this effort utilizing present and emerging technology. Information on DC power supplies, power factor correction, diesel generators, fuel cells, storage batteries and switch gear as well as alternative power sources is being requested. All responses can be expected to meet Minuteman weapon system requirements. The Minuteman weapon system facilities need to be supportable beyond the year 2020. This information will be used to evaluate the long term benefits of a partial or complete replacement of the power system. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; it is a request for information only and will not result in a government contract. The government does not intend to pay for the information requested.
