The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for 17 9.1 GB formatted capacity fast wide and differential 16-bit data path internal SCSI disk drives for a Falcon System type C disk storage enclosure and SGI challenge "XL vault" disk storage with the following specification: The disk must be the same or better than the Seagate drive #ST19181WD, of half-height size, 7200 RPM or faster, 9 MS access time or faster and have the same cache or larger. The disk must be sled mounted 68 pin interface and special mounting bracket to fit without other hardware modification to the "C" and "XL" rack mounted trays within the data vaults. The disk must arrive pre-formatted for a SGI Challenge System with 2 Falcon SCSI type "C" or equilvalent rack-mount trays with 2 channels capable of of holding 8 half-feight disks, complete with 2 SCSI cables, terminators, and all dividers and connectors for the 8 disk, and must be fitted without modification, into a Falcon System Talon 44 inch high 4 SCSIvault cabinet and 8 FalsonSCSIvault type "C" or equivalent half-height blocking plates which must fit the trays above.
