70 -- UPGRADE OF THE DAIRS DIGITAL IMAGERY SCANNER (DDIS) SOL 434/0055Z/97 DUE 041497 POC Contract Specialist, KAREN ERTEL, (202)231-2833 The Virginia Contracting Activity of the Defense Intelligence Agency intends to issue a sole source commercial contract to DBA, Incorporated of Melbourne, Florida. DBA, Incorporated is currently the incumbent contractor on the DAIRS Digital Imagery Scanner system, and has the patent on and ownership of the scanning technology that comprises the DDIS. As envisioned for the instant contract, the contractor will be required to upgrade the workstation segment of the DAIRS Digital Imagery Scanner (DDIS) with both commercial COTS hardware and software, as well as custom- written software; will deliver, replace, install, and integrate the specified hardware and software into the existing DAIRS workstation; will document all changes in the form of an operation manual; and, will provide training to DIA personnel. Anticipated date of award for the Base Year is on or about 01 May 1997. Period of performance for the Base Year is 6 months from the date of award, with one option period to be exercised no later than twenty- four months following contract award.
