NO. 803-727-4039 This is a sources sought synopsis for Ice Contractors
to provide ice in 5, 10, 15, 25, etc., pound bags, or bulk) who are
interested in providing ice during emergency situations for the Corps
of Engineers, South Atlantic Division(SAD). The following States in the
SAD are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Interested contractors are required to submit the following
information: Location(s) of your plants; response time; current
production capacity; production capacity during a SAD emergency
contracting period; transportation capability; availability of various
pounds per bag as stated above, etc.; capability to provide
certification of ice quality; SAD States to which ice can be provided;
price per bag/pound for ice provided; standby time rates if your
trucks are delayed at the destination point; restocking charges if
necessary; and pallet charge, if any. The Charleston District will then
incorporate your information into a computer data base for future
procurements SAD wide, specifically during the hurricane season which
is 1 June through 30 November. Interested contractors may submit the
above information to the attention of Bradford L. Backus at the
Charleston District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, P.O. Box 919, Room
324, Charleston, South Carolina 29402-0919 or FAX your information no
later than 16 May 1997 so as to enable the Charleston District to
enter your company in our computer data base. Later responses will be
