A -- IDENTIFICATION AND ORGANIZATION OF PROGRAM AND LITERATURE INFORMATION IN CHRONIC DISEASE PREVENTION, RISK REDUCTION, AND HEALTH PROMOTION/EDUCATION SOL 200-97-0613(P) DUE 061697 POC Elmira Benson, Contract Specialist, (404) 842-6790 The Centers for Disease control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates issuing a cost reimbursement contract to support the research, capacity building, and technical assistance activities of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) by identifying, acquiring, and organizing the following: (1) Information on chronic disease prevention activities taking place in states, federal agencies, and voluntary organizations; (2) health promotion/health education program information and literature that emphasize methodology and application of (a) health promotion education interventions and activities aimed at preventing and controlling chronic diseases including cancer, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular diseases and related risk factors such as tobacco use, physical inactivity, poor nutrition, etc.; (b) health education for reproductive health concerns such as adolescent pregnancy, maternal and infant health; (c) health education/promotion related to comprehensive school health; (d) health education/promotion/chronic disease prevention related to oral health; (e) other issues such as managed care, social marketing and health communications as related to the prevention and control of chronic disease; (f) health education as part of overall health promotion programs; and (g) health per se. The contemplated period of performance is 12 months with four 12 month option periods. RFP due date approximately forty-five days after release date. The tentative release date is May 2, 1997.
