Maintenance services would consist of inspect, repair and calibration of the system which is incorporated within the Asternet Host Computer, Precision Level Telemetry System, High Alarm System, and Graphic Display Panel. Technical consulting services for expansion, modification and major upgrade of the Asternet System. The period of performance will include a 12-month base period from 01 Oct 1997 to 30 Sep 1998 and two 12-month option periods. The solicitation also includes FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services. Note 28 applies. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial items in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contractingofficer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice.
