To kick-off the event this year, NSBC will host a Networking Breakfast where DSS-W customers, area government small business representatives and the vendor community will have the opportunity to network with one another. The event will take place at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. DSS-W procures contracts for over 300 federal customers: Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Army, Army Materiel Command, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff, Secretary of the Air Force, Office of the Surgeon General, and many other DoD agencies. All technical and contracting personnel from the following agencies will be invited: the Pentagon, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Marine Corps HQ, Navy Annex, and Henderson Hall, along with all DSS-W customer agencies. We expect anywhere from 300-350 government personnel to attend. The day will begin with a pre-event networking breakfast, followed by all day seminars along with corporate and government exhibit tables. In addition, a working luncheon will be included in the program, where large and small businesses will be challenged to work together to gain a competitive edge. The primary function of this important outreach program is to bring together both large and small businesses with DSS-W representatives and local area government small business representatives to identify and discuss pertinent issues that will either enhance or impede their doing business together. The following are just a sampling of the requested technologies: Telecommunications, Systems Integration, Presentation Systems, Advanced Office Automation, Commodities & Service, Internet/Intranet, Virtual Reality, Communication Systems, Multimedia, CD-ROM, UNIX, Laptops, Furniture, Optical Imaging, Cabling, Client/Server, Networking, Systems Engineering, Software Development, CAD/CAM/CAE, Research Studies, Workstations, Connectivity, Video Teleconferencing, etc...
