PACKAGE SCREENING SYSTEM, SOL N00164-97-R-0045. The candidate must be
commercially available and adhere to Open Systems standards for
interoperability and interface with other security systems as set forth
by industry and Government. the x-ray systems will be required to
perform package screening for Department of Defense facilities
worldwide and be capable of detecting threats such as explosives,
weapons and contraband. The systems shall accommodate a wide range of
package sizes, require minimum floor space and accommodate a ranage of
technicalrequirements for detection capabilities. The capability of
automating detection and alarming shall also be available. It is
anticipated that the procurement will be conducted in accordance with
FAR part 12 for commercial items. Anticipate award will be made on best
value-indefinite delivery, fixed price with a duration of 5 years. RFP
N00164-97-R-0045 to be issued on or about 30APR97. The solicitation
