The National Cancer Institute, Division of Basic Sciences, Laboratory of Tumor Cell Biology, intends to negotiate a 36-month extension with Advanced BioScience Laboratories, Inc., Contract N02-BC-33052, awaiting completion of an animal holding facility at the Frederick Cancer Research and Development Center (FCRDC), NIH. This extension will provide for a phase-out period to allow the effective transfer of the work to the Government facility. Authority for this action is 41 USC 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Inherent duplication of cost to the Government and risk associated with moving the animals make competition unfeasible for this phase-out period. (See Numbered Note 22).
