COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 18,1997 PSA#1827AIR EXPEDITIONARY FORCES The Aeronautical Systems Center, Weapons, Air
Base, and Range Product Support Office, Contracting Division
(ASC/WMOK), in support of the Air Base Systems Division (ASC/VXO), is
interested in acquiring information on commercially available equipment
which could be used in support of Air Expeditionary Forces (AEF). The
mission of the AEF is to provide initial response and rapid power
projection to a crisis developing anywhere on the globe. This response,
primarily consisting of combat and support aircraft emanating from the
continental United States, must be rapidly deployable to a bare base
and capable of projecting lethal firepower shortly after arrival. This
request for information (RFI) is focused on providing support
expeditionary bare base infrastructure necessary to base these forces
for the execution of their mission. Items to be considered for this RFI
must be lightweight, air transportable, sustainable and capable of
supporting personnel groups numbering from 550 to 3300 personnel. Firms
withcapabilities in the following areas are requested to submit
literature/brochures outlining the specifications/capabilities of their
equipment/systems: (1) Power generating (preferably diesel-fueled) and
distribution equipment; (2) Small, medium, and large shelters (soft
and/or hard-sided), with self-contained environmental control units,
capable of being adapted to protect against chemical/biological agents;
(3) Liquid/solid waste disposal; (4) Portable kitchens; (5) Shower and
laundry facilities; and (6) Water purification and distribution
systems. Literature should be submitted to ASC/VXO, Attn: Major Dmytro
Schabla, ASC/VXO, 101 W. D Avenue, Ste 16, Eglin AFB FL 32542-5495
within 15 days of the date of publication. Responses will evaluated and
a solicitation list established of those firms determined capable of
fulfilling the Government's requirements. This request for information
(RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a
request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government
to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend
to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the
information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect
costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission
of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. This
RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals. No telephone
