Z -- REHABILITATION OF BUILDING 179, NAVAL UNDERSEA WARFARE CENTER, NEWPORT, RI SOL N62472-95-B-1896 DUE 061697 POC Ms. East, Procurement Technician, 401-841-2543. This is a modification to a Pre-Invitation Notice dated 120296. This project shall repair and upgrade building 179 by selective demolition of the damaged test cells and rebuild the test cells to new criteria using reinforced oncrete. Associated work includes consolidating and rerouting utilities consisting of electric, compressed air, water, drains, process piping, and communications. In addition repair will be required on several exterior walls, doors and the roof. A new instrumentation room will be built in one of the existing cells. A moveable barrier and railroad tracks servicing the cells will be constructed. A ground water treatment system will be required. The contract will be conducted in three phases; demolition to grade; operate dewatering system during soil remediation (by separate Navy contract); rebuild building 179. The estimated cost range: $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. The SIC Code is 1542 and the business size standard in $17.0 million.
