NASA/LeRC is hereby soliciting information for potential sources for a FIELD EMISSION SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE (FESEM)SYSTEM WITH SEVERAL OPTIONS. The microscope shall include a cold field emission electron gun, battery back-up for the ion pumps,elemental analysis capability, electron detectors,specimen airlock/stage,vacuum system,x-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy, computer controlled operation.The x-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy shall have an x-ray detector and an x-ray analyzer/computer system. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation.Interested firms have 15 days from the publication on the NAIS (or commerce Business Daily (CBD) if over $500K) to submit their qualifications/capabilities. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in "Note A".
