(AMC) Contracting Flight intends to issue a purchase order for training
and keynote speaker services to be performed June 10-12 1997, in
Hollywood Florida, as follows: A. Keynote Addresses. (1) Motivational
Keynote Address, Looking at Challenges from a New Perspective,
developing "tools" for becoming more effective and productive in
everyday life, and developing your own personal vision. Keynote should
cover keys that listeners need to open the locks of their minds,
imagination, and personalities; effective brainstorming; ways to get
better results from staff; ways to ascertain new solutions by working
together as a group and encouraging networking and idea sharing.
Keynote will examine ways to motivate people to open up new markets, to
take off their blinders, and to start asking "What if?" questions.
Keynote will focus on how to facilitate results through creative
cooperation. Keynote address will be from 0915-1015 on Tuesday, 10 Jun
97. (2)Current military family research, current and future service
modalities, and changing priorities in the human service delivery
system. Keynote address will be from 0810-0915 on Thursday, 12 Jun 97.
(3)How to be an Organized Executive, how to get more done faster, how
to recapture time, how to make quicker and better decisions, and how
to avoid falling victim to office pressures. Topics will include ideas
for how to reserve serious work for "prime" times when energy levels
are at the highest, how to use leveraging to multiply time with a
minimum of effort, how to rapidly process and filter vast amounts of
information, and how to enact closure. Keynote address will be from
0810-0915 on Wednesday, 11 Jun 97. B. Training Sessions. Training will
include four (4) two and one half (2.5)-hour workshops and will be in
both lecture and hands-on formats for the following subject matter:
(1) Workplace Diversity. Participants should gain an understanding of
the current and future trends in workplace diversity, the opportunities
presented with such trends, and the unique challenges facing workplace
environments in light of the changing workforce. Attendees should
understand the implications for leadership, management approaches, and
training. Topics to be explored include ways to create an environment
where everyone can achieve their full potential; how to promote mutual
respect, acceptance, teamwork, and productivity among people who are
diverse; and how to allow each employee to contribute to their greatest
potential. Workshops will be Tuesday, 10 Jun 97 from 1313-1600;
Wednesday, 11 Jun 97 from 0930-1200 and 1330-1600; and 12 Jun 97 from
0930-1200 with breaks scheduled by the trainer. (2)Step-Parenting.
Participants should gain an understanding of how pro-active
step-parenting can work; how parents can change current parenting
practices which aren't working; how to communicate with, empower,
partner with, and coach step-children; and how to help families create
a working family unit. Workshops will be Tuesday, 10 Jun 97 from
1313-1600; Wednesday, 11 Jun 97 from 0930-1200 and 1330-1600; and 12
Jun 97 from 0930-1200 with breaks scheduled by the trainer. (3)Burnout.
Participants should gain insights and skills to beat burnout, eliminate
frustration, cut stress, develop decision-making techniques, spot
burnout symptoms, and develop solutions that work. Topics will include
a system for balancing your life, staying in touch with needs and
maintaining passion and fulfillment. Workshops will be Tuesday, 10 Jun
97 from 1313-1600; Wednesday, 11 Jun 97 from 0930-1200 and 1330-1600;
and 12 Jun 97 from 0930-1200 with breaks scheduled by the trainer.
(4)Personnel success. Participants should learn an achievement model
based on their personal value system, be able to recognize the value of
change and how to manage for change, how to evaluate the impact of
self-esteem and improvement techniques, how to manage and overcome
fear, how to expand paradigms and tap creativity, how to find and tap
hidden potential within themselves, how to effectively handle
procrastination, how to employ the art of good listening, and how to
achieve personal and professional balance. Attendees should be able to
discover self-motivating techniques that will enhance daily
productivity and improve time management skills, work with the elements
of creative and successful plans, learn empathetic listening skills,
and how to implement an achievement plan for their daily lives.
Workshops will be Tuesday, 10 Jun 97 from 1313-1600; Wednesday, 11 Jun
97 from 0930-1200 and 1330-1600; and 12 Jun 97 from 0930-1200 with
breaks scheduled by the trainer. (5)Radically Changing World.
Participants should gain an understanding on How to adapt personal
focus to respond to changing work environments, how to accept and deal
with ambiguities, how to manage your own morale and career
development, and how to behave like you're in business for yourself
while staying committed to your job. Workshop should examine ground
rules for job success in the information age, how to add value to your
job, and how to hold yourself accountablefor outcomes. Attendees
should understand how resisting change can ruin their career, new ways
at looking at and for job security, the risks of relying on
reputation, and why they must contribute more than they cost. Finally,
the workshop should help attendees learn methods for altering
expectations in the face of rapidly changing environments and ways to
seize the many opportunities they will encounter in the Information
Age. Workshops will be Tuesday, 10 Jun 97 from 1313-1600; Wednesday, 11
Jun 97 from 0930-1200 and 1330-1600; and 12 Jun 97 from 0930-1200 with
breaks scheduled by the trainer. Requirements. All presenters will, at
a minimum, have five years of clearly documented training experience in
subject matter being presented. For Keynote address (2), Current
Military Family speaker must have been personally involved in research
on military families within the last ten years and have a working
knowledge of current research efforts and findings in the area of
military families. Contract costs are all inclusive of trainer's
expenses including workshop materials, handouts, and presentation
aides, as well as trainer expenses for lodging, transportation, and
