954-7791 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement
for research on and development of a prototype Variable Item Generator
(VIGOR). The objective of this procurement is to research, develop,
and implement a prototype computerized technology for generating many
versions of multiple choice applied math and electronics knowledge and
skill items from a single item stem. That is, specific aspects of a
seed item would be systematically manipulated by software rules to
generate new, parallel items, such that the new items are of comparable
difficulty for a given target examinee population. The prototype
variable item generator will be integrated with the Airway Facilities
Basic Electronics Screening Tool (BEST). The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Code is 8732. Copies of the RFO may be requested
by facsimile (405) 954-3030. Phone request will not be honored. (0108) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0299 19970422\87-0001.SOL)
