COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 22,1997 PSA#1829Defense Special Weapons Agency, 6801 Telegraph Rd., Alexandria, VA
22310-3398 A -- ADVANCED NUMERICAL PREDICTION OF TARGET RESPONSE SOL
DSWA01-97-R-0030 POC Daniel Bertuna, Negotiator, (703) 325-1197, Scott
G. Morton, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-1200. This synopsis is for
an effort which will develop the ability to accurately predict the
response of fixed, complex targets to conventional weapons effects. It
will entail developing, benchmarking and applying a new numerical
analysis procedure using "first principle" computer codes. These codes
will be used for problems involing the transient dynamic response of
fixed structures subjected to conventional weapon effects. The computer
code to be developed should use meshless modeling of the continuum such
as that found in smooth particle methods or element free galerkin to
handle damage patterns, failure surfaces, and failure propagation which
are not known a priori. For information contact Daniel Bertuna, (703)
325-1197. Information on DSWA solicitations, already released, can be
obtained by calling the DSWA Hotline at (703) 325-1173. As of 31 May
96, Acquisition Management has added "Procurement Opportunities" to the
DSWA Home Page available on the World Wide Web. Information will
include this synopsisand more. Please check us out at www.dswa.mil.
