MINIATURE WIDEBAND CASSETTE RECORDER/REPRODUCER 17. Notice of Intent. The U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) intends to award a contract for a miniature, wideband cassette recorder/reproducer, for the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC), Charlottesville, VA. This requirement is made under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The intended source is Datatape Inc. 2071 Chain Bridge Road, Ste 430, Vienna, Virginia 22182-2622. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Prospective contractors who believe they can perform this service must provide specific and detailed technical documentation to support their claims and abilities within 15 days of this publication. No telephone requests. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quote(RFQ). The solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses that are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 3824. Items are 2 EA DTR-8 Miniature Wideband Cassette Recorder/Reproducer, 637320-0001; 2 EA Time Division Multiplexer (TDM-8), 637350-0001; 2 EA Rackmount Kit, 631142-0000; and 2 EA Remote Control Panel Assy, 631157-0000. The following Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) provisions and clauses apply to this solicitation: FAR 52.212.1 Instructions to Offerors Commercial Items (Oct 1995).
