SPECIAL NOTICE The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate, on a sole-source basis, with MicroSoft Corporation for the continued support and implementation of the Redesign Disability System (RDS) consulting services. These technical services, which consist of the successful port of the RDS from OS/2 and WordPerfect to Microsoft Windows NT and Microsoft Word for Windows 95, were acquired as a result of the combined synopsis/request, SSA-RFQ-96-0868 published in the CBD, Issue No. PSA-1676, September 10, 1996. This award is considered to be a continuation of the effort and an interim solution while other options and possible future awards are being considered. These services are expected to be required through September 30, 1997. This is not a Request for Quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. This award will be placed in accordance with FAR Part 12-Commercial Item, and FAR Part 13.6 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. In accordance with FAR Part 5.203(a) and (b), any responses must be received in writing, and addressed to the referenced Contracting Officer within 7 days of the issue date of this synopsis. Any responses to this announcement must reference MSJT. FAXED RESPONSES SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED.
