The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to award a contract to a small business supplier of plastic and metal component parts that meet the requirements of the M18A1 Claymore Anti- Personnel Mine body and rear cover; M4 Electric Blasting Cap Assembly; M57 Firing Device; M40 Test Set; and M7 Bandoleer. The supplier will also be required to furnish various size small rubber balls, and assemble and retain them into the mine bodies. The goal of this project is to change both the material and dimensions of the housing throughout the life of the contract based on test results. Thus, there may be several design iterations subsequent to award of the basic contract. Solicitation DAAE30-97-R-0518 will be issued on or about May 5, 1997 with proposals due on or about June 5, 1997. The solicitation will contain all information necessary for the supplier to fulfill the basic contract requirements.
