762-6476. The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking qualified sources that can
provide all labor and material to open, inspect, report, overhaul,
test, package and ship the Caterpillar 3412 DITA Port Propulsion Diesel
Engine, NSN 2815-01-F90-0160, Caterpillar 3412 DITA Stbd Propulsion
Diesel Engine, NSN 2815-01-F90-0159 and the Caterpillar 3516 Diesel
Engine, NSN 2815-01-342-4445. A requirements contract with one (1) base
year and four (4) option years is anticipated for an estimated quantity
of six (6) of each engine type per year. Delivery to be made to U.S.
Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. It
is the Government's belief that only Caterpillar Inc. can provide the
work as described above. Technical data and/or drawings pertaining to
the Caterpillar Diesel Engines is not available within the Government
and are proprietary to Original Equipment Manufacturer, Caterpillar
Inc. or their authorized qualified overhaul facilities. However, other
potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities can
submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from
the date of this announcement. The following information must be
provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered repair: (1)
Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability
of the offered parts (i.e. salient physical, functional and
serviceability characteristics, or (2) Data that the offered parts have
been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the original
equipment manufacturer. No cost or pricing data is required. See
Numbered Notes 22 and 26. All responsible sources may submit a proposal
which will be considered by the agency. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS NOTICE IS FOR
INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED AND DISADVANTAGED
BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
