Highland, MI for quantity of forty (40) each Spool and Sleeve Assemblies in accordance with NAVSEA drawing 53711-5944389. Anticipated award date is 5/30/97 with delivery 8 weeks from date of award. This hardware is being used in a pneumatic system without o-ring seals, and is dependent on very tight dimensional tolerances (less than 5 millionth of an inch) to effect a seal with minimal volume leakage. No formal solicitation will be issued. Other than Full and Open Competition procedures are being used because of the proprietary rights of Numatics, Inc. with regard to their manufacturing process and the existing patent of their "lapped spool and sleeve assembly" design.
