66 -- UNDERWATER ACOUSTIC DOPPLER SPEED MEASURING AND CURRENT PROFILING DEVICE SOL N61331-97-Q-JM03 POC John Miller, Contract Specialist, (904)235-5399 Carol A. Dreger, Contracting Officer, (904)234-4863. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Coastal Systems Station is seeking potential sources for a "Commercial-Off-The-Shelf" Underwater Acoustic Doppler Bottom Tracking Speed Measuring and Water Current Profiling System. The system will be used as a prototype addition to the Precise Integrated Navigation System aboard the MCM1 USS Avenger class ship. The system must be able to provide ship speed sensing capability in the range of 0-20 knots, and provide water current profiling within the range of 0-8 knots. The profiling must be able to be accomplished simultaneously with ship speed sensing, i.e. measurements of speed and water current must be able to be made within the same minute of one another without manual operator input. The unit must be able to provide bottom depth sensing in the range of 0-600 feet or greater and be able to send data over two industry standard interface ports. Units must be deliverable within 150 days after receipt of order. Potential sources should furnish commercial technical literature showing the specifications, dimensions and capabilities of their product. Technical point of contact for this action is Gary Kirkpatrick, Code A11, Coastal Systems Station, 6703 West Highway 98, Panama City, FL 32407-7001, phone (904)234-4771, fax (904)235-4535, e-mail address is Kirkpatrick_ Gary@ccmail,ncsc.navy.mil.
