Naval Surface Warfare Center intends to award a sole source contract to
Faraday Technologies Inc. using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
These unique services are in support of the Alloy 625 Life Cycle
program. The objective is to develop crevice corrosion data in
representiative configurations which could stay ahead of the lead ship
in the class and provide the technical basis for establishment of
inspection an maintenance periodicity. Faraday Technologies has been
very instramental in the development of a remote corrosion detection
device. The leading candidate for this device is the Smart O-Ring. this
procurement is for the continued testing and monitoring of the device
currently under evaluation at the Naval Research facility in Key West,
