A/E services for complete construction documents for replacement of fire alarm system throughout the medical center. Design work shall include full survey verifying existing fire alarm related equipment and other utilities for use in developing the design for a fully addressable type system. The facility is 65 years old and consists of twenty separate buildings with approx. 430,000 sf of space. All buildings are brick masonry and have been renovated periodically. Factors considered for selection include: specialized experience in fire and safety related work-especially fire alarm replacement projects, location, past performance and abilities, experience in projects that require surveying of "As-Built" conditions for use in developing most effective design, experience in general remodeling work, previous VA experience, and ability to design using Autocad. Construction cost range between $500,000 to $1,000,000. Firms desiring consideration should submit a writtenrequest and completed SF 254/255. Firms having current 254 on file need only submit a SF 255 and written request to be considered. This is not a request for proposal. Award will be subject to availability of funds.
