The Government intends to acquire the below described services under the procedures outlined in FAR Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items. The FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire rental of cotton/cotton blend shop towels, including the pickup and delivery at Department of Navy facilities within the specified region, from contractors licensed by the Environmental Protection Agency to launder shop towels which may include oils, grease, hydraulic fluids, paint and solvents. The specified region is the Midwest Region of the United States which consists of the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Minnesota. The estimated number of affected naval activities within the region is 11 with an estimated number of shop towels needed of 632,400 for a base year and four (4) one-year options. An indefinite delivery, requirements type of contract is contemplated. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification is 7213. Consideration is being given for making this procurement a 100% small business set-aside if there is enough interest from certified small businesses. Companies having both the capability to perform and who meet the small business size standard for SIC 7213 should notify the Contracting Officer under separate cover by 30 April 1997. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia.
