99 -- MOUNTAINEERING/MARITME/CARVING EQUIPMENT SOL W13G07-CBD7-0032 POC Erich Hans AmRheim (508)233-5450 (Site Code DAAK60) The US Army Soldier System Command, Natick Labs, Natick, MA is conducting a Market Survey to compile a list of manufacturers with Mountaineering/Maritime/Caving equipment among the items they produce. The equipment of interest for evaluation is commerically available: runners, slings and cables to act as a tether or safety line approximately 4 feet in finished length. This should include any and all information relative to the above mentioned equipment to include: pictures, weight, dimension, test data, cost and availability, warranty and other information which the firm believes demonstrates the value of thier items. The item(s) submitted should be light in weight either fabric or metal in structure, able to fit in a pouch with the dimensions of 51/2" long X21/2" wide X11/2" deep and respresent state of the art materials and construction techniques. The item must have a breaking strength of 5000 pounds(via Instron test) and capable of interfacing with either a locking or non- locking carabiner. All information shall be sumbitted to the US Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center in thirty days from the date of this announcement for review. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
