COLOMBIA: DRAFT REQUEST TO MAKE COLOMBIAN TECHNICAL STANDARD 3847 (CYLINDERS FOR COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS USED AS AUTOMOBILE FUEL) MANDATORY IN RESPECT OF INSPECTION, MANUFACTURING (SUBPARAGRAPHS A, B, C) AND WALL THICKNESS (SUBPARAGRAPHS A, B, C, D) REQUIREMENTS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. Description of content: The purpose of Colombian Technical Standard 3847 (Cylinders for compressed natural gas used as automobile fuel) is to establish the requirements in respect of materials, design, manufacturing and testing of cylinders for storing compressed natural gas for use as automobile fuel. Another characteristic of these cylinders is that they must be permanently attached to the vehicle. The cylinders must meet all of the requirements in this Standard without exception. 7. Objective and rationale: Protection of human life and health and consumer protection. 8. Relevant documents: Colombian Technical Standard 3847. 9.
