COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 25,1997 PSA#1832SERVICES TO MONITOR THE FEDERAL MANUFACTURED HOUSING PROGRAM (REFERENCE
NO.18578) On or about April 30, 1997, the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD) will utilize the Internet Home Page
Contracting Opportunities site at (http://www.hud.gov/ctsoprty.html) to
publish the 1994 Statement of Work (SOW) and Factors for Award. The
Department intends to review all comments to the SOW and Factors before
procuring monitoring services in support of the federal manufactured
housing program. In this way, the Department is soliciting written
comments from the general public and interested parties on the 1994 SOW
and Factors for Award. Specifically, the Internet package will consist
of a preface outlining specific elements for which the Department is
soliciting comment, the proposed SOW which describes the Government's
requirements, and the Factors for Award. HUD requests that all
interested parties review and comment on these requirements as deemed
necessary. Such comments are to be mailed to the Department at the
address previously cited in this synopsis. (Internet and faxed
responses will not be reviewed). Services which were in the 1994
manufactured housing contract include,but not limited to the following:
(1) monitoring third party HUD-approved agencies that are hired by
producers of these homes to review and approve their design and factory
construction; (2) handle certain consumer complaints related to
manufactured housing and determine if any corrective actions is
required; and, (3) collect data and conduct tests related to this
program. The document referenced above may either be downloaded from
the Internet or picked up during business hours in room 5256 (9:00a.m.
through 5:00pm local time) at the HUD Headquarters building, 451 7TH
Street, SW, Washington, DC 20410. Comments related to this document
will be reviewed by the Department prior to issuing a Request for
Proposal package that would include a SOW and Factors for Award. Your
responses/suggestions/comments must be submitted to the attention of
Melvin W.Gunn (at the address above in the Office of Procurement and
Contracts) within thirty (30) days from the date the SOW and Factors
are published. The actual date and time will be specified in that
document. DO NOT SUBMIT RESPONSES THROUGH THE INTERNET OR FACSIMILE
MACHINE AS THEY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT
THE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO RESPOND TO ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING
