lfranz@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Army ARDEC is seeking information and
potential sources to procure a limited quantity of off the shelf,
non-developmental ammunition for test and evaluation. There is
potential for adoption and production for armed services use. The
ammunition is desired for use in the MK19 Grenade Machine Gun. The long
term objective is to Type Classify and field a low cost training round
for the MK19 Grenade Machine Gun with the following characteristics:
visible signature upon impact out to a minimum of 1600m; no arming
mechanism/no explosive or incendiary mixtures, capable of functioning
the MK19 GMG (the ammunition shall be capable of providing sufficient
energy to pull and feed the equivalent of a twenty eight round belt of
combat ammunition(M430) without a weapon stoppage), ballistic match
and comparable accuracy with the M430 ammunition, and manufactured at
a lower cost than the current training ammunition. Interested firms
should submit literature/brochures not exceeding 10 pages describing
the technical capabilities of their candidate cartridges in response to
the aforementioned criteria. This is only a Market Survey, not a pre
solicitation notice. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later
date, a pre-solicitation notice will be published. Respondents should
submit their qualification data within 30 days from the date of this
publication. All information is to be submnitted at no cost or
obligation to the Government. Telephone requests are not acceptable.
