Villalpando, 512/326-6027 This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for
commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the solicitation; proposals are
being requested and a written solicitation will not be used issued. The
request for quotation document and incorporated provisions and clauses
are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC)
90-45. This procurement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The
Standard Industrial Code is 5045. The small business size is 100
employees. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation
Center, Austin, Texas (AAC) intends to procure the following items: 1)
6,000 each of a 3M brand 3490E tape cartridge and 2) 6,000 each of an
EDP tri-optic vibrant color barcode label (series begining with
211000-216999). The vendor is required to attach the barcode label to
the cartridge before delivery. Delivery of the items shall be within 21
days from receipt of a purchase order. Delivery address is: Austin
Automation Center, Attn: Warehouse #1, 1615 Woodward Street, Austin,
TX., 78741. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will
be considered by this agency. Responses should be in writing and can be
mailed to the attention of the contracting officer or faxed to
512/326-6028. The following FAR clauses apply to this solicitation. FAR
52.212-1, "Instructions to Offerors, Commercial Items". Addendum to
52.212-1, The Offeror who proposes to furnish an equial item, will
submit descriptive literature to the contracting officer by the offer
due date. FAR 52.216-1 "Type of Contract", The government contemplates
award of a firm-fixed price contract resulting from this solicitation.
FAR 52.212-2, "Evaluation-Commercial Items", Award will be made to the
responsive offeror which provides the lowest offered price and meets
all the terms and conditions set forth in this solicitation. All
offerors will be required to provide a completed copy of the
provision,FAR 52.212-3 "Offeror Representations and
Notifications-Commercial Items", with the addendum, VAAR 852.219-70
"Veteran Owned Small Business. FAR 52.212-4 and clause FAR 52.232-3
"Mandatory Information for Funds Transfer Payment". FAR 52.212-5
"Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or
Executive Order-Commercial Items". The Standard Commercial Warranty is
required. Offers must be submitted within 10-days from the publication
of this notice and should be addressed to the attention of the
