SWEDEN: THE DECREE BY THE SWEDISH MARITIME ADMINISTRATION WITH REGULATIONS CONCERNING AMENDMENTS OF THE DECREE BY THE SWEDISH MARITIME ADMINISTRATION (1985:24) CONCERNING FIRE PROTECTION ON SHIPS COMPRISED BY THE 1974 CONVENTION FOR THE SAFETY OF LIFE AT SEA The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.134. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: SWEDEN. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: National Maritime Administration. Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Ships sailing in Swedish water and Swedish ships sailing outside Swedish water. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: The Decree by the Swedish Maritime Administration with Regulations Concerning Amendments of the Decree by the Swedish Maritime Administration (1985:24) Concerning Fire Protection on Ships Comprised by the 1974 Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (35 pages). 6. Description of content: The rule implies requirements concerning escape routes on ro-ro passenger ships and involves an implementation of the 1992 as well as the 1995 amendments to SOLAS. 7. Objective and rationale: The purpose of the rule is to increase the safety on ro-ro passenger ships. 8.
