in Basic Radiation Physics to train inspectors to conduct mammography
inspections under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). The
contractor shall conduct a minimum of two (2) week courses and maximum
of three (3) week courses annually during the three year performance
period. The objective of the course is to teach each potential MQSA
inspector through lectures, demonstrations, exercises and laboratory
sessions, the fundamental concepts of radiation physics in order to
understand the basis for surveys of diagnostic medical
radiographic/fluoroscopic medical x-ray facilities. FDA's preference is
to use existing space and equipment located at 16071 Industrial Drive,
Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877. However, FDA is willing to review
proposals from prospective offerors who prefer to use their own space
and equipment providing it is in or near a metropolitan area as
outlined in the solicitation package. All responsible sources may
submit an offer which will be considered. All requests for the Request
for Proposals (RFP) must be in writing to the address above. The RFP
package will be released on or about May 29, 1997, and proposals will
