Division of the Portland VA Medical Center. The Medical Center intends
to negotiate with Passage Activating System of Tualatin, Oregon, a
design build project to provide all labor and materials to expand the
centrally controlled pneumatic tube system throughout the medical
center. The contractor shall install approximately 20 additional
pneumatic tube stations. The existing system is owned and operated by
Oregon Health Science University, giving permission to the VA to tie
into the existing system. The existing system is manufactured by
Pneumatic Tube Products, Inc. of Hayward, California. The computer
program that runs the system can only communicate with components
manufactured by Pneumatic Tube Products. Numbered Note 22 applies,
however, all offers received within 45 days after date of publication
of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Solicitation
will be issued on or about May 13, 1997. Requests and/or inquiries must

faxed to (503) 273-5335. The cost range for this project ranges from
$250,000 to $500,000. This project is subject to the availability of
