R -- RFI) MATERIAL SUPPORT CENTER (MSC) & COMBAT SYSTEMS CASUALTY CONTROL SYSTEM (CSCS) SUPPORT SERVICES DUE 052397 POC Mr. Bob Shaffer (Written submission only) 17.DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS -- This is a presolicitation REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) synopsis. Naval Sea Systems Command Detachment PERA (CV) and the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound are conducting market research only. No award is intended as a result of this synopsis nor does the Government intend to pay for information received. PERA (CV) is interested in receiving information with regards to commercial applications relevant to MSC/CSCS. MSC/CSCS support services will ensure a complete and accurately defined configuration if subject vessels to system, sub-system, and component levels. This data will be linked with the appropriate Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) information to provide the Navy Maintenance Technician with all elements necessary to perform proper maintenance on selected pieces of equipment. MSC/CSCS is designed to allow maintenance personnel fast, direct on-line access to Combat Systems drawings, configuration, and logistics information to increase ship's forceability to maintain readiness and to provide expeditious recovery in the case of a casualty. In addition to the design, update, and maintenance support of MSC/CSCS, the contractor will also be required to provide training support to Naval ship and shore personnel in the use of the subject systems. Information requested includes commercial methodology of acquisition, contract type, known market forces, challenges to successful acquisition, and current industry program designs. The Government is not interested in specific company capability information and will not entertain such submissions. Submissions will be accepted in writing or via e-mail only.
